Preparation for 40th Day
The 40th day of mourning is coming this weekend. My aunt sent me a letter and gave an explanation of why we commemorate the 40th day:

People ask why we commemorate 3rd Day, 9th Day, 40th Day, One Year. This is the only religious way to live God?s way, Jesus way of the Cross. A way of looking at the bigger picture of Heaven, Life, Death, and Resurrection. It is not about the Lumpia or the Pancit.--Aunt Remy (1.10.2004)

It really puts things in perspective as to what life is about. A Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for the intention of Richard's 40th Day on February 14, at Our Lady of the Desert Church.

Sadness follows...
We laid you to rest on December 13th, 2003. The holiday season was not the same without you here. We will gather again on the 40th day to remember all the great and quirky things about you. But we shall never forget you as each day passes.
